BILL GATES TO DONATE N8 BILLION TO FIGHT EBOLA

Billionaire, Bill Gates, through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is set to spend $50 million on the fight against Ebola.

This was announced yesterday, September 10, 2014, by the organization’s President of Global Development, Chris Elias.

The money will reportedly be used, along with an earlier set-aside sum of $10 million, to support emergency response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Two men in the UK have been arrested and found guilty of perpetrating a dating scam and one of them is a Nigerian.

The Mirror reports that 37-year-old Adewunmi Nusi and Monty Emu, 28 have been convicted of money laundering after illegally obtaining £220,000 (N57,810,815.37) from vulnerable women who were looking for love.

The charade was carried out on dating site Match.com and victims were made to believe that they were making contact with a man called James Richards.

HOMO RAPE: 37-YR-OLD MAN DETAINED FOR DEFILING 14-YR-OLD BOY

A 37-year-old man has been remanded in prison for defiling his ward, a 14-year-old boy.

On Wednesday, Yakubu Danladi, was arraigned on a one-count charge of ‘unnatural offence’ before a Magistrates’ Court in Minna. Danladi allegedly committed homosexual acts with a 14-year-old boy, Ahmed Mohammed, in his house in Minna.

A report in the Nation newspaper claims that Boko Haram has agreed to swap some of the abducted 219 Chibok girls for 18 members. According to the Nation, Boko Haram sent the list of its commanders and the 30 girls to be swapped to a minister, who is also a lawyer, an elder statesman and a key facilitator of peace with the sect, Shehu Sani, who is also the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria.

A Customs agent, Musiliu Abdul, has seen his 7-year-old marriage dissolved by an Igando customary court in Lagos.

As a result of a petition he filed 7 April complaining about denial of sex, on Wednesday, 10 September, he told the court that his wife, Bisola, had starved him of sex for months.

The 48-year-old man said, “My wife always starve me of sex, she will not even allow me to touch her let alone make love to her.”

A 26-year-old resident of Ilorin, Zainab Usman, has successfully gotten out of a physically-abusive marriage.

Policemen attached to the Area F Command in Lagos State have rescued a suspected fraudster from being lynched by an angry mob in the Ojodu-Berger area.

The suspect, Akinnifesi, was handed over to the police who were on a patrol.

Akinifesi had, three weeks earlier in the Mushin area, reportedly duped one Daud of N10,000 belonging to his brother, who sent him to withdraw N5,000 from his Diamond bank account.

Five people have been arrested and detained by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly gang-raping a student of Delta State Polytechnic named Favour Orji.

The Ewu Ajasa community in Lafenwa, Ogun State, were thrown into a state of confusion when the corpse of a one-year-old child was found in an uncompleted building. Labourers who were at work, clearing weeds around the building were the first to discover the corpse before raising alarm…
