HOW SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS GOMBE CHURCH

The Police on Thursday confirmed a bomb explosion at the entrance of Tudun Wada ECWA Church, Gombe. The Spokesman of the state Police Command, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Gombe that a suicide bomber rode on a motorcycle and tried to enter the church a few minutes after 8 a.m. “He came with a motorcycle and tried to enter the place but as a result of the security measures put in place, he was blocked and the bomb exploded instantly and he was killed,” Atajiri said.

JONATHAN CONGRATULATES OONI OF IFE AT 85

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who clocks 85 on Thursday. Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, in a statement said the President wrote a congratulatory letter to the monarch in which he described him as one of the nation’s most revered royal fathers. 2015: JONATHAN VOWS TO CRACK DOWN ON TROUBLEMAKERS


President Goodluck Jonathan has vowed to deal decisively with anyone who may decide to foment trouble before, during and after the 2015 general elections. He said he would wield the big stick against troublemakers because of the post-2011 elections violence that erupted in some parts of the country. Jonathan read the Riot Act in his New Year message broadcast on radio and television networks early on Thursday morning. He said his administration would not tolerate a repeat of the 2011 orgy of violence.

The brother of late Rose Aifuwa, the Austria-based woman who was allegedly murdered on Christmas Day in Benin, Edo State, Mr. Nosa Ojo, has urged the Nigeria Police to leave nothing to chance in bringing her killer to justice. The mutilated body of the mother of three was found at Upper Mission extension junction, along the Benin-Auchi Expressway in the early hours of Christmas when many Christians were making their way to the church.
