A baby has a greater risk of asthma if his or her father smoked prior to conception.
The research, presented at the European Respiratory Society International Congress in Munich, is the first study in humans to analyze the link between a father’s smoking habits before conception and a child’s asthma. The findings add to growing evidence from animal studies which suggest that the father’s exposures before parenthood can harm his child.

POLICE NAB 9 SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS ROBBERS IN ENUGU
THE Enugu State Police Command has arrested nine persons suspected to be members of armed robbery and kidnap gangs operating in the state.
Five of them that allegedly belong to an armed robbery gang were apprehended while planning a robbery operation in Enugu while the four suspected kidnappers were nabbed in their hideout after a gun duel with operatives of the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the state command, which left some of the suspects fatally injured.
