An American was attacked by an unknown subject at the Lagos airport on Sunday. It was informed by TSA’s Transportation Security Operations Center on Monday evening September 8. The alert stated that it was an isolated incident:
“The [air marshal] reported that the subject stuck him with a syringe and it is believed he was injected with an unknown substance”
The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention observed a victim and said that:
“The victim did not exhibit any signs of illness during the flight and was transported to a hospital upon landing for further testing”
After the screening was done American citizen flight back to Texas, USA. The syringe used for the attack was also taken for the expertise to the USA. During the flight victim didn`t show any signs of illness. As soon as the plane landed air marshal was taken to hospital for a further tests.
FBI started to investigate this case, but as for now an early indications are limited to a criminal nexus.
Just a week before another awfull accident happened. The British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Peter Carter Leslie lumped and died on Tuesday, September 2, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. Though the cause of death is yet unknown, a top security operative at the airport said the diplomat may have died of heart-related complications.
