Nigerian Police Allegedly Extort Money From Road Users

“Every morning at about 6.30 a.m., these Nigerian police ‘officers’ without uniforms mount a checkpoint at the Ijebu Ode second junction by the Lekki-Epe express road, Ogun State. They extort money from road users. They usually demand from N200 to N1000. Some days ago, I witnessed how one of them stopped a Tokunbo car and demanded N10,000.

A baby has a greater risk of asthma if his or her father smoked prior to conception.

The research, presented at the European Respiratory Society International Congress in Munich, is the first study in humans to analyze the link between a father’s smoking habits before conception and a child’s asthma. A hit-and-run driver of a jeep knocked down two highway managers of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency on Monday along Iyana Oworo Expressway in the state.
