GUNMEN KILL 10 IN KADUNA VILLAGE -- NIGERIA

AT least, 10 persons were on Saturday night killed by unknown gunmen who attacked the Tattaura village in the Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Tattaura is a community in Ancha District of Ninzo Chiefdom in the southern part of the state. The village is two kilometres east of Gwantu, the council headquarters.

Eyewitnesses said five others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Akwanga General Hospital in Nasarawa State. The attack on Tattaura reportedly started at about 10.00pm on Saturday night, shortly after the community celebrated Christmas with fanfare. It was learnt that the community usually organise dances amongst children, youths and the aged during the yuletide in the area.

BOKO HARAM INVADES NORTHERN CAMERROM, KILLS 23 PERSONS

No fewer than 23 people were killed in a Boko Haram attack in the Mozogo district in Cameroon’s Far North Region, an official said. The regional governor, Mijiyawa Bakary, confirmed the attack by the Nigeria-based Islamist militants, but did not give further details. “We are still gathering the facts from our divisional officers, but what we know for now is that the attackers killed at least 23 people. The damage could be more,” he said.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ijede Police Station, Nwaoha Uzoma, has died. Source learnt that Uzoma’s corpse was found in his office on Thursday, a day after he entered and locked himself in. It was gathered that after he did not pick his calls, anxious relatives and policemen in the station broke the door open and saw his lifeless body on the floor. From the information we  gathered according to Punch ,  Uzoma, a Superintendent of Police, was formerly heading the Anthony Police Division, before he was posted to Ijede, in the Ikorodu area, early in December.

HOW HOODLUMS KILL TWO, LOOT SHOPS IN LAGOS MAYHEM

No fewer than two people have been killed, while six others severely injured after an early morning attack on some residents of Sule Lane, in the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Lagos State. MYSTERIOUS FIRE: PROSTITUTE, 2 OTHERS BURN TO DEATH IN DELTA SEX SPOT

A mysterious fire in the Udu Local Government Area of Delta State has claimed three lives, according to reports. The burnt corpses of a prostitute and her clients were found at a popular commercial sex spot near Orhowhurun Roundabout. The fire started in the early hours of Friday, December 26, in the rooms of one of the commercial sex workers in the area, Vanguard reports. The inferno is said to have extended to nearby shops and homes and destroyed property worth millions of naira. According to witnesses, the bodies of the victims were discovered in the blaze and had burnt beyond recognition. “Corpses of the lady and most likely her male client were found on the same spot”, a witness told Saturday Vanguard. The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at a mortuary.
