ALICE GROSS MISSING: CCTV SHOWS LAST SIGHTING OF TEEN WHO DISAPPEARED A WEEK AGO

Alice Gross

CCTV images showing the last known sighting of missing teen Alice Gross have been released by police.
The 14-year-old disappeared a week ago today, with murder detectives now in charge of the search for her.
Today, officers released CCTV of the moment the 14-year-old was last seen as she walked towards her London home along a canal path, and also revealed that Alice's rucksack was found on the same track.

The bag, containing some of Alice's personal belongings, was discovered alongside the River Brent on Tuesday.
Alice, who had health problems, left her home in Hanwell, west London, at 1pm on August 28, telling her parents she would be back that evening.
She was caught on CCTV on the Grand Union Canal tow path just over an hour later at 2.23pm, walking alone near the Holiday Inn at Brentford Lock, heading towards the Thames.
Detectives now say she was seen at the same point on the tow path at 3.45pm going back towards Hanwell.

In the CCTV, Alice was seen wearing a rucksack style bag while out walking in the River Brent area and officers are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen her wearing a purple rucksack, or seen this bag in the area on or after the day she went missing.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command said: "A week on since Alice was last seen by her family we are becoming increasing worried about her welfare and safety as each day passes.
"Her disappearance is out of character and this investigation continues to be a priority for us. Alice has been missing for a considerable period of time and her family are desperate to have her back home where she belongs.
"We are exploring a number of lines of inquires and we urgently require the assistance of public to help us locate Alice. Our investigation has reached a point where we now know Alice was heading along the Grand Union Canal tow path in the direction of Hanwell and one would assume she was heading home.
"I would like to direct appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward and speak to us. The information you hold no matter how small may just be the vital piece of information we require."
Scotland Yard maintain there is nothing to suggest the teenager had come to harm, but that the possibility had to be considered as one line of inquiry.
Her mum Rosalind Hodgkiss, 50, said: "What I would want to say is whatever she feels, or might have happened, we are not angry with her. We love her, we desperately miss her, we want to support her whatever is going on in her thoughts.
"We don't want to speculate about what might have caused her to go, if that indeed is what has happened. We want her to know how much we love her and miss her. There is a huge hole in everybody's life and we can't believe that she is not here."
The Brentside High School pupil had taken part in a song-writing workshop at the Camden Roundhouse earlier in August and police are trying to trace anyone who befriended her during the course.
Alice is white, 5ft 2in and slim, with shoulder length, light brown hair. When she was last seen she was wearing dark blue jeans, a dark green lacy cardigan and denim blue Vans shoes. She may have had tartan-framed glasses with her.
Her sister Nina, 19, has set up a Facebook page, Find Alice Gross , to help with the search, and celebrities including Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton have helped publicise the hunt via Twitter with the hashtag #FindAlice.
