It the peak of wedding season right now in most parts of the western world, and gearing into heavy wedding season in Nigeria.

So it’s your wedding or friend’s wedding and you want to get some of the best wedding songs to make the day special. However you want to have the more current up to date songs, and not songs that (though classics) have been used over and over again. Here are 5 of the hottest nigerian wedding songs for the year 2014. I’ve put in songs that were not necessarily released in 2014 but have gathered a lot of steam going into the year. Here goes:
 Kay-Switch – Obimmo
Kay-Switch did something not many expected of him in this lovely song, Obimmo. Add Dbanj (who has an all time wedding fav song in Fall In Love) to the mix, and you’re bound to have something special. Plus it’s pretty cool that these yoruba boys were speaking ibo pretty well.

Tiwa Savage – Eminado ft. Don Jazzy
Tiwa Savage already has a massive wedding song in Ife Wa Gbona , but this one (on the high tempo side) is a song that is/will be rocking weddings well well this year. Oh and it also goes well that Eminado means Goodluck Charm.
Banky W – Yes/No
Banky W struck gold with this absolutely lovely tune, Yes/No. Everything about it screams love and romance. From the lyrics to the video, the melody, and of course Banky W’s voice.
Davido – Aye
Davido might be embroiled in his beef with WizKid right now, but we’ll choose to remember him for this nice song about love. Love in its purest form is expressed in this song Aye. The lyrics are so easy to recite also, so it makes for an even better listening experience. This one has Nigerian wedding written all over it.

Flavour – Ada Ada
Flavour already has a wedding classic in Adamma, but this one will be a wedding tune for generations. Flavour’s music appeals to our innermost African senses and there’s no way you listen to this without wanting to get married traditionally… or get married again in the village. The video puts the perfect visual to the song.

For weddings. I'd rather go with Timi Dakolo's Iyawo Mii...there's just something about that song. Lol
