LADY WHO HIRED THUGS TO BEAT COLLEAGUE TO DEATH ARRESTED

Murder so cruel
The State Criminal Investigation Department of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old lady, Kadijat Salami, for allegedly hiring thugs to beat her colleague, Rotimi Ewedemi, to death over a minor argument. According to reports, Salami and the deceased, worked in a popular eatery at Kilometre 14, Idiroko Road, Sango Otta, in the state, and following a disagreement, she allegedly hired some thugs last weekend to beat up the 31-year-old and the beating ended up in his death.

It was gathered that the source of the quarrel between the late Ewedemi and Salami arose when their supervisor held a discussion forum with members of staff during which the deceased was said to have made a statement that provoked the suspect.
He was said to have accused Salami of pilfering some of the company materials after the outdoor service.
A co-worker reported:
" During the argument, Kadijat Salami said if she was a magistrate that she would shoot Rotimi Ewedemi to death over such indictment.
In anger and apparently considering the age difference, Rotimi slapped Kadijat for being insolent."
Another colleague said that in the heat of the argument, Salami threatened to have her pound of flesh and immediately put a call through to her boyfriend, informing him of the assault.
After close of work, at about 10 pm, the unsuspecting Ewedemi was said to have been attacked by Salami’s boyfriend (identity unknown) and two other thugs, with dangerous weapons.
In the process, Ewedemi reportedly hit his head on the culvert, consequent upon which he died.
He was said to have been abandoned in the pool of his blood, from where some of his colleagues rushed him to a private hospital where he was administered first aid.
An eye witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said apprehension set in after Ewedemi who managed to get up to ease himself started complaining of pains in the head.
"He was rushed to the General Hospital opposite Onipanu police division, popularly called Obasanjo Police station, where unfortunately he was confirmed dead.
When his colleagues got wind of the tragic incident, they mobilised and apprehended Kadijat Salami and handed her over to policemen at Onipanu division."
