Her family catapulted her into reality TV stardom aged nine and she knows little else. And now - like many other teens - Kylie Jenner aims to carve out her own identity.
‘My family always jokes that I’m always off doing my own thing and they never know where I am,’ the 17-year-old revealed in an interview with Remix magazine styled by Marina Monroe. 'I'm about to turn 18, so I'm starting to do more of my own stuff, like acting and other stuff I'm interested in. Kendall hangs out with my family a lot, I hang out with my friends a lot.'
Kylie was photographed by Darren Tieste, interviewed by Steven Fernandez for the magazine and styled by celebrity stylist Marina Monroe. Marina said about styling the editorial, "We chose to go in a more sophisticated and feminine direction than you normally see her in, she's not a little girl anymore and I wanted to highlight that in a confident, effortlessly sexy way."
Kylie, the youngest of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan, is 19-year-old supermodel Kendall Jenner's sister from their parents Bruce Jenner, 65, and Kris Jenner, 59, who finalized their divorce in December. Her siblings from Kris Jenner's first marriage to the late Robert Kardashian are Kourtney, 35, Kim, 34, Khloe, 30, and Rob, 28.Kylie's family tree is further extended by Bruce's children from his two previous marriages, The Hills star Brody and Brandon, 33, with his ex-wife Linda Thompson; and daughter Cassandra, 34, and son Burt, 36, with his ex-wife Chrystie Crownover.
However, what is normal to Kylie is a stark contrast to the reality of her peers.
She will turn 18 on August 10, but has already purchased a $2.7 million Calabasas home.
Her rumored boyfriend is 25-year-old rapper Tyga, who has a two-year-old son with model Blac Chyna - her sister Kim's former friend. Indeed, Kylie has evolved over the years - from a fresh-faced tween to a heavily painted model. But growing up in the public eye is nothing new for Kylie.
Before the Kardashians became a household name when their E! series began in 2007, it was her former Olympian father, Bruce, who was first in the spotlight.
'Throughout my whole life my dad was famous and had a name, so I was used to that. Then I was nine when we started the show, when people started paying a lot of attention to Kim,' she explained to the magazine. 'I didn't really know what was going on. I can't remember a time when people didn't know us. For me this is just a normal thing.'
And she has successfully set herself apart from her sisters.
While Kim and Khloe are known for their curvaceous figures, and rising catwalk star Kendall is known for her height and slender frame, Kylie has made her generous lips her trademark.
The budding beauty puts her pout on show as she covers the autumn issue of Remix and poses in designs by World, Kate Sylvester and Helen Cherry in a pictorial for the publication.
For the cover, Kylie wears a white top from World and calls attention to her favorite feature with a glossy nude lip color.
Inside she poses in a textured salmon-colored two-piece dress that features a distressed hem, and she accessorizes with a Chanel statement necklace.
