Taylor Swift has been crowned the most charitable celebrity of 2014, topping DoSomething.org'sual Celebs Gone Good list for the third year running. The immensely popular 25-year-old songstress secured the top spot for donating all the proceeds from her hit single Welcome to New York to public schools in the big apple. Miss Swift also surprised several of her biggest fans this Christmas when she sent them gifts and personalized cards, as seen in a video she released today which filmed their elated reactions.
Orange Is The New Black's Laverne Cox took the number two spot after the 30-year-old actress, who was born male, sparked a national conversation about the transgender movement. Beyonce came third thanks to her #BeyGood campaign, which benefited a wide range of good causes;followed by Miley Cyrus for her work with homeless youths. Emma Watson came in at number five for her groundbreaking UN speech on feminism to launch the #HeForShe campaign.

Justin Bieber rounded up the list at number 20, despite his behavioural 'ups and downs', for granting over 200 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Strangely, those who didn't make the cut include golden couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who donated the cool $5 million they received from their wedding pictures to charity.
Similarly, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin donated their wedding photo earnings to several human rights charities, and also failed to make the list. And who could forget Benedict Cumberbatch, who participated in the Give Up Clothes for Good campaign and starred in an ad campaign for Stand Up to Cancer. And of course, was drenched not once but six times as part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
