PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE RCCG: INSURGENCY WILL BE WEAKENED THIS YEAR

Insurgency will be weakened this year –Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that the violence ravaging the northern part of the country, the Middle East and other parts of the world, would be “significantly weakened” this year. The renowned cleric added that the Ebola Virus Disease, which has killed more than 3,850 and still plaguing some West African countries, would also “die out” in the year.

In his New Year message, titled, “Prophecy for the year 2015,” posted on his Facebook page, Adeboye predicted that there would be many scientific and medical breakthroughs particularly “in the areas of lack of sleep, dreams and brain disorder. “In Nigeria, by the end of the year, you will say all is well that ends well,” the 72-year-old cleric said.

He, however, warned that there would likely be “massive calamities,” saying people all over the world should pray against natural disasters. “Some of you will swim in the river of abundance this year. There will be miraculous completion of projects. There will be fulfillment of dreams. There will be miraculous restoration. The song of many will be — the Lord has been good to me. “All over the world, insurgencies will be considerably weakened. But pray against massive calamities. Pray against massive earthquakes, strong hurricane and typhoons,” Adeboye added. The Senior Pastor, Kingsway International Christian Centre, Matthew Ashimolowo, in his message, urged the ruling class to spend quality time seeking the face of God.

Ashimolowo blamed some of the problems bedeviling the country on the failure of the political leaders to partner God in their endeavours. “Prayer is partnering with God for divine exploits in the affairs of men. When we touch heaven through our prayers, heaven will touch the earth.

“We need to be able to recognise and know how to obey divine signals. Failure in public endeavours is usually due to a lack of quality time with God in private prayer,” he noted in a message posted on Facebook.

Also, the Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church World Wide, David Oyedepo, said 2015 has been ordained by God as a year of the “rise of kingdom giants.” He also offered prayers and supplications for his followers via his Twitter and Facebook pages on Thursday.

“The year 2015 is ordained to be the rise of kingdom giants. My prayer is that, you be listed among them in Jesus’ name! You shall be exempted from all the evils of 2015 in the mighty name of Jesus!” Oyedepo prayed. Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has lamented the escalating poverty confronting millions of Nigerians. The President, in the New Year greetings to millions of his Facebook fans, stated that his primary objective in 2015 was to assist the poor and uplift Nigerians from poverty to prosperity.
“Already, our economy, by our collective efforts, is now the largest in Africa and the 26th largest in the world. Working together, we can all build the economy to become among the top largest in the world. Our goal is to uplift our people from poverty and place them firmly on the ladder of prosperity,” Jonathan said.

Last year, the President argued that Nigeria learnt an important lesson on national unity when the EVD epidemic brought out the best in the citizenry, culminating in the defeat of “one of the worst plagues the world has witnessed.” Such “high ideals of patriotism” which made Nigerians “work as one”, he said, should be sustained with a view to moving the country forward on the path of development in all sectors of the economy. “If we can do this (containment of Ebola) to the glory of God and to the forward march of our nation, we can do it again. My dear friends on Facebook, my message to you and to Nigeria is that we must build on that unity in 2015. “Nothing and no one should divide us. I urge all Nigerians to speak and act only in ways that will promote our unity and build bridges amongst our peoples. We have so much to gain from this,” he added. The Presidency insisted that those predicting the disintegration of the country would be put to shame when the general election is successfully conducted in February.

Writing on his Twitter page, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, said, “One thing will not happen but two things will certainly happen in 2015. Nigeria will not break up. The Nigerian economy will not collapse. President Jonathan will win.”
