Two men accused of robbing and stabbing a Lagos based student, Ahmed Fashola, in the face with broken bottles have been arraigned before Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos. Both suspects, 27-year-old Morufu Cole of No. 4, Iduntafa St., Lagos Island, Lagos, and 26-year-old Suleiman Tukur of No. 14, Iduntafa St., Lagos Island, Lagos are facing three counts of conspiracy and assault occasioning harm and stealing, Daily Independent reports. According to the Police prosecutor, Chidi Okoye, the accused, who both
claim to be businessmen, committed the offences along with others now at large, at 8 p.m., on December 15 at a Lagos Island party. The Prosecutor told the court that Cole and Tukur attacked Fashola with broken bottles and stabbed him repeatedly in the face during an argument. He said the complainant sustained serious facial injuries and also was also relieved of his cash an iPhone and a necklace all valued at N175,000. Okoye said the offences contravened Sections 171, 285 and 401 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 and it is punishable by three years imprisonment under the same law. After pleading not guilty to the charges, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O Awogboro, granted the suspects bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the case till January 18 for mention.
