Some happenings might sound weird, hilarious and out of place when one hears them; this is the feeling one gets when it was revealed that a 14-year old boy was sentenced to 5-months imprisonment for allegedly killing his step-mother's chicken in Wudil local government area of Kano State.
The boy who could not be named since he is a minor, according to a lawyer in the state, Audu Bulama Bukarti, had been having a dispute with his father's wife for some months and out of youthful anger, killed one of the woman's chicken and she called in the police who arrested him and charged him to court from where he was sent to jail.
Bukarti said:
"He was taken to the police station by the step-mum over her chicken and when efforts by the police to settle them yielded no result, the case was transferred to court."
The boy was sent to a youth correctional center to serve his time.
