‘LACK OF JOB IS DANGEROUS FOR UNITY' IN NIGERIA

The Methodist Church of Nigeria has warned that Nigeria may explode any time soon if the threats posed by food and job insecurities are not urgently addressed. The National President, National Men’s Fellowship of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Samuel Ejiofor, who made the observation in Umuahia, said that the threats posed by food and job insecurities in Nigeria were worse than the menace of the Boko Haram terrorist sect.

Ejiofor, who was addressing a press conference after the fellowship’s 18th National Conference, on Sunday, noted that frustrations and anger occasioned by job loss and hunger could make the affected persons unleash unimaginable mayhem on the country.
He blamed politicians for paying a lip service to the problems of the country and called for collaboration between the church and the government as a way out of the country’s many woes.
Ejiofor also accused politicians of being responsible for the security challenges and other problems bedevilling the country due to what he called their double standard. He said, “Politicians recruit thugs who they use and dump after elections, and these thugs later become a problem for the society, resulting in all sorts of violent crimes.”
