This is as bizarre of news as you’ll hear this week. A Nigerian couple in the UK, Lizzy Idahosa, 24, and her husband Jackson Omoruyi, have been sentenced to jail for human trafficking, and money laundering. Part of the charges include forcing 2 Nigerian women into prostitution, and making them go through a “juju” ritual which include eating live snakes, and snails.
According to a report by the DailyMailUK, the couple had made over £70,000 from the women.
Idahosa was convicted of 8 counts including trafficking two women into and around the UK while Omoruyi was convicted of two offences of money laundering. They are yet to be sentenced.
