THESE WOMEN HAVE HAD SO MUCH PLASTIC SURGERY THEY CAN'T GET THROUGH AIRPORT SECURITY

Plastic surgery has become such a booming business in South Korea that thousands of clients are traveling from China to get an extreme makeover. "The extensive surgery they are opting for transforms not just their features, but their entire faces, rendering them almost unrecognizable," a representative at the Chinese news and photo agency CEN, wrote to Cosmopolitan.com.The changes in their appearances are often so drastic that these women can't even travel back home, because they no longer look anything like their passport photos. As a result, some hospitals have had to hand them "plastic surgery certificates" to help them get through customs.

According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, 1 out of every 77 people in South Korea go under the knife in an effort to improve their looks. The most popular procedures are ones that will make the women look more "Western," which often includes reducing excess skin in the upper eyelids to enlarge the eyes and undergoing a Pulse Light Treatment that makes the skin seem fairer.
"It is believed that the rise of the country's music industry is behind the boom," CEN wrote, "and many patients visit clinics with photos of celebrities, asking surgeons to emulate American noses or eyes."
Though the "after" photos also seem to include a lot more makeup and retouching, the transformations are still mind-blowing.
