Lami Phillips teams up with multi-talented artist “Olamide Baddo” on this #NaijaHouseFunk track as she calls it. Speaking on the production and concept of the song, Lami mentioned that she intentionally stepped away from her comfort zone and had to create a middle ground for herself and Olamide to work with and be happy.

When asked about the recording process, she said “Olamide is a genius and he is pretty crazy…he had me laughing most of the time but was very focused on making sure he delivered on the track saying “Lami na serious musician make she no say I disappoint”.
KOTOBATA follows the release of her video “Romantic Boy” and her critically acclaimed afrojazz single “MissYouMissingMe” which is making its rounds on the African airwaves and making the alternative charts.
Speaking of the song title, Lami said, “my niece actually came up with the word KOTOBATA which means wahala / trouble/ or something scattered. So, I explored a situation where a girl who is famed for always fronting meeting a guy who floors her”.
