According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Terzungwe Kajo, Ugoo carried out the act sometime in October at Abough Village, behind Makurdi Modern Market, knowing fully well that the woman was not of sound mind and could not have given him consent to sleep with her. The prosecutor also informed the court that the case was reported at the B Department of the Benue State Police Command headquarters, Makurdi by the mother of the victim.
According to the Kajo, the accused person dragged his victim inside his room while she was passing and raped her. He added that he covered her mouth so she could not call for help.
