Taylor Swift is preparing to release het fifth studio album titled, "1989" on October 27th but before she does that, Billboard just gave her a little present by crowning her the 2014 Billboard Woman of the year!The 24-year-old country star who earned a No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her latest song “Shake It Off,” has become the first artist to win the honor more than once. Swift won the award in 2011 as well.
Janice Min, co-president of Billboard magazine’s owner, Guggenheim Media, stated, "as one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the Billboard charts," in th elast year.
Taylor's albums alone have sold more than 4 million copies in the United States and her last four albums topped the U.S album chart. She has also won seven Grammys in the course of her singing career.
According to Billboard, Swift is the best selling digital music artist of all time. She will receive her honor in December in New York at Billboard’s annual Women in Music event.
Past winners of Billboard Woman of the Year include: Pink,Beyonce and Katy Perry.
