Amanda Bynes is ready to give New York City a spin!
Just a few short days after arriving in the Big Apple, the troubled actress stepped out to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. The 28-year-old obtained a Citi Bike Sunday afternoon that she used for about 30 minutes all by herself.
Wearing a fuzzy checkered sweater, leather pants and flats, Bynes went for a little ride before returning to her friend's apartment in Midtown Manhattan.
"She appeared normal and stable," an eyewitness exclusively told E! News. "She looked great and was a good bike rider. Nothing abnormal."
Although Bynes was still wearing a Band-Aid underneath her sunglasses, the former Nickelodeon star had no troubles throughout her ride and appeared to have enjoyed herself.
It's quite a different sight from how the former child star acted late last week when she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to travel east.
As she enjoyed a pre-flight meal at Gladstone's restaurant inside a terminal, an eyewitness spotted Bynes doing some questionable behavior.
"Amanda was at the table by herself with all her makeup spread out across the table," a source told E! News. "She was talking to herself and putting on a ton of makeup. She would apply some, look in her compact and make weird pouty faces and then say to herself, 'OK, that looks fine.'"
The recent behavior comes shortly after Bynes was arrested for DUI in Sherman Oaks, Calif. She was charged with a misdemeanor after police "determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance" while driving.
The surprising news came at a time when her parents thought she was excelling at fashion school.
"They truly believed Amanda was doing well based on the first and second semesters' grades, which were stellar," a source close to the family exclusively told E! News.
For now, Bynes remains in New York City while her parents try their best to monitor her behavior.
"Her parents are keeping close tabs on her through various people," the family source added. "They are monitoring her whereabouts, her spending and her driving as best as they can…They wanted to believe she was being honest and getting better."
