KATTY PERRY TO PERFORM AT 2015 SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW

Katy Perry
Pull that huge mechanical horse out, because something tells us we're going to be seeing it on the small-screen soon enough. After some speculation as to which musical artist will rock the stage for the 2015 Super Bowl, it looks like the NFL has chosen Katy Perry to take on next year's halftime show, according to Billboard. E! News has reached out for comment.

Perry was thrown into the mix as a potential frontrunner for the big gig back in August, along with Coldplay and gal-pal Rihanna, who probably wasn't up for the job anymore anyway, since she recently told CBS "f--k you" after the use of her song "Run This Town" with Jay Zwas axed from the Thursday Night Football lineup during the wake of the Ray Ricescandal.
There is a little interesting tidbit about Katy being chosen to do the iconic performance. Upon informing the musical acts of their candidacy a couple months back, the National Football League also asked the hitmakers' representatives if they would be willing "to contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league, or if they would make some other type of financial contribution, in exchange for the halftime gig." And while appearing on ESPN's College Game Day recently (you know, when she asked Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight to call her), Katy exclaimed, "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."
Maybe the NFL decided to veto that idea?
