Vanity Fair‘s November cover girl, Jennifer Lawrence finally speaks out about the controversial nude photo leak. As the first time to comment on the invasion of privacy, V.F. wanted to give Lawrence “a chance to have the last word.” “It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime,” she tells the magazine. The actress finally reveals her true feelings about what happened. Although she’s not crying about it anymore, she still has a few words for the entire scandal.
She vents to V.F.
“Anybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, ‘Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.’ I don’t want to get mad, but at the same time I’m thinking, I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.”Lawrence also shares a message for the tabloid community: “You have a choice. You don’t have to be a person who spreads negativity and lies for a living. You can do something good. You can be good. Let’s just make that choice and—it feels better.
Accompanied with a tropical-themed editorial shot by Patrick Demarchelier, the over 3,000 word story also hits on more than the controversial issue. The full story will be available October 8 in digital editions, and the magazine hits newstands October 14.
