ACTOR'S EQUALIZER MAKES $35 MILLION BOX OFFICE DEBUT

It's Denzel Washington again... The actor's most recent movie 'Equalizer' has made a $35 box office debut. 'Equalizer' beat movies like 'The Maze Runner', 'The Boxtrolls' to the top. The movie ranks as the third biggest domestic opening of Washington’s career, behind “Safe House” ($40.1 million) and “American Gangster”($43.6 million).

The two-time Oscar winner, Denzel, plays a former commando living a quiet life in Boston when the disappearance of a prostitute acquaintance lures him into a battle with the Russian mafia.
According to Rory Bruer, Sony Pictures president of worldwide distribution, the movie is likely to have a sequel.
 “I’m pretty confidant there will be a sequel, From the beginning, as the story begin to unfold, it had possible franchise written all over it.” - He said.
