4 FEARED KILLED IN ONDO ENVIRONMENTAL MAYHEM

AT least four persons were reportedly killed while many others were injured in Igbotako area of Ondo State during saturday monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the town. The council boss, Niyi Pirisola, was among those seriously injured during a clash with hoodlums in the area.

source understood that some street urchins known as” Ojota Boys” in the town attacked the Environmental Task Force led by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the local government, Pirisola. But another source alleged that the council boss was trying to enforce the no movement order in the town when some hoodlums alleged to be loyal to a popular politician attacked him and some government officials with him.
It was gathered that one of the hoodlums, popularly known as “Ogbege”, initiated the crisis by attacking Pirisola.
The council boss was said to have met with market women and advised them on compliance with the environmental law before he was attacked and knocked down by the hoodlum who was riding on a motor bike.
