10 HOT LONG LASTING FOOD AND DRINK PROOF LIPSTICKS

We're all about a strong lip here at 2dunpsread. However, we're also a fan of eating (especially burgers, burritos and other messy things), drinking and from time to time, when we feel nice, a kiss or two. Sadly, none of these things are particularly conducive to keeping your lippie on. So, we've trialled a whole bunch that claim to be long-lasting, and these are the cream of the crop. Whether you favour a stain, gloss or good ol' fashioned stick, there's something for everyone in our seletion of utterly immovable lip colours. Pucker up...

Topshop Gloss Ink, £8.00

This high-pigment glossy stain leaves an incredible, rich sheen and packs a punch with the colour. Can be worn over a lipstick for a gloss finish, or alone. A steal at £8.00, too.

Ellis Faas Hot Lips, £23.00, LoveMakeup.com

The applicator for this looks super weird - a kind of foamy bullet - but delivers smooth, creamy, liquid lipstick that's basically immovable and not drying at all. A cult classic for a reason.

Pixi Lip Blush, £12.50

This is good if you want a softer colour that still stays in place. The pen applicator gives a sheerer finish, but the pigment stays like a full matte. Comes in a seleciton of pared-back shades.

ILIA Lipstick, £22.00

Pretty and wearable, this long-last shades are totally edible, meaning the lipstick you inevitably chew off won't harm you at all. A great, natural product - Thandie Newton's a fan.

Hourglass Femme Rouge Lipstick in Raven, £22, Space NK

We love this super-sexy lipstick from the pigment to the packaging. Goes on creamy, stays like a matte. And makes you feel like a sulty siren. We'll take two.

Kevyn Aucoin The Matte Lip Colour in Eternal, £26

A matte with staying power, we love Eternal but the whole range is fab too. Feels lovely and soft, but doesn't bleed as much as others. Lipliner still advised.

NARS Velvet Matte Lipsticks, £18.00

Don't let the crayon applicator fool you, this isn't for kids. The range of shades deliver long-lasting, non-drying colour that have achieved cult status for a reason. We love 'Train Bleu' for gothic glamour, or 'Mysterious Red' when we're feeling classic.

OCC Lip Tar, £12.00, LoveMakeup.com

The name sounds off-putting, but these are a staple among hardcore makeup fans. The consistency takes getting used to when it comes to application, but once these are in place? No movement.

NARS Semi Matte Lipsticks, £18.50

A solid alternative to the sometimes drying Pure Matte versions, the Semi Matte range has an excellent selection of shades and is totally colourfast. Orangey-red 'Heatwave' is a favourite.

NYX Xtreme Shine Lip Cream, £7.00

We're obssessed with these at Grazia Daily HQ - it may look like a lip gloss, but this is a liquid lipstick with incredible pigment and shine. Goes on soft and doesn't dry your lips out, they survive any amount of nibbling or kissing. And they're under £10!
