Nweke, 32, was said to have waylaid and cut off the victim’s head while she was returning from the farm. Both the suspect and deceased hailed from Amuda in Ezza North council, where the incident occurred.
State Police Commissioner, CP Maigari Dikko stated this at the command’s headquarters in Abakaliki.
He said: “According to the suspect, his reason for beheading the woman was that her son, one Friday Nwega, allegedly raped his wife sometime ago.
“After committing the murder, the suspect threw the headless body into Ogbor stream in Amuda and buried the head in a nearby bush
“Both body and head of the deceased have been recovered by operatives of the Command’s Department of Investigation”.
CP Dikko also revealed that the command arrested 12 robbery suspects involved in three different robberies in the state.
