In 1997 Richard Norris accidentally shot off half his face with a shotgun after a drunken argument with his mother. Now 39, after a full face transplant and large scale facial reconstruction he has found love again, but is having to learn how to kiss all over again as he can no longer pucker his lips.He is now dating Melanie Solis from New Orleans, who first contacted him over email after reading about his ordeal.

In 2012, Mr  Norris underwent a marathon 36-hour operation involving 150 doctors and nurses which replaced jawbones, teeth, tongue, muscles and nerves.
He had received his jaw, teeth and even a tongue from a donor to enable the ground-breaking work rebuilding his face.
Ms Solis told the Sun: ‘I see Richard as having a beautiful, kind heart on the inside – and he’s a hottie on the outside!
‘Those eyes and that smile just had me at first sight.’
After this horrific accident, he endured public ridicule and suffered from suicidal thoughts but says he has no regrets, ‘especially now I have met Melanie’.
‘People focus too much on looks, they can be very superficial.
