It's official. The curtain has risen on New York Fashion Week.
What's better than a view from the front row? A view from the comfort of your couch, naturally. There aren't any street-style photographers in your living room, so slip into your favorite cozy robe, sit back, relax and enjoy our recap of the first day of Fashion Week.
We already noticed some trends cropping up right off the bat: soft color palettes being one of 'em. Plenty of designers opted to work in pretty pastels instead of saturated color.

First up on our list of favorites? The BCBG Max Azria show. It was as if each look that floated down the runway was prettier, softer and airier than the last. We can think of a thousand places we'd love to wear these frothy frocks.

Another designer who fully embraced pastels for spring is Tadashi Shoji, who delivered a gorgeous collection in a soft, clean color palette. And if you thought crop tops were a fading trend, clearly that's not the case. There was a whole lot of bare midriff action going on.

But not all the shows were a pastel bonanza; Richard Chai worked with vibrant jewel tones, previewing pieces from his spring collection that were bold, edgy and in some cases, glitzy.

Finally, even though Whit was technically yesterday, we've gotta give it a shout out for being one of our favorite presentations so far. Designer Whitney Pozgay's collection is the perfect mix of joyful and charming, with just a dash of kooky.
Well, we'd say day one of NYFW has whet our appetites, and we're ready for more fashion. Bring it on, day two!
