NAWA OOO: MAN KILLS WIFE OVER SHARING GARRI

John Ogunji, a 45-year-old farmer reportedly murdered his wife, Christiana, following an argument on the sharing of a bag of cassava flour, popularly known as ‘Garri’.

According to y!naija.com, The murder happened at Obatedo village in Omotosho area of Okitipupa Local Government area of the State.
Ogunji and his wife reportedly quarelled over the sharing of garri. He asked his wife to share the cassava flour into two equal portions, after frying it, but she declined to acquiesce to his demands.
The 39-year-old wife, Christiana, reportedly replied him, saying that there was no need to share the bag of garri, because of their quarel.
It was said that she insisted that it was not proper for a couple to separate the food in the house because of a quarrel that would be eventually settled. Her refusal to share the garri led to an heated argument between the pair.
After the wife refused to budge in her stance, he reportedly struck her on the head with a plank, after which she slumped and died before she could be rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
Wole Ogodo, Police spokesperson, said the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigative Department in Akure, for further investigation. Ogodo stated that the suspect would be imminently charged to court after conclusion of investigation.
