Reports reaching us say that Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar is seriously considering declaring his presidential ambition on September 24, 2014.
Atiku who was former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s second in command is said to be eyeing several locations in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to make the formal declaration.
Some of these venues include the Eagles Square, Sheraton Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Yar’Adua Centre and the National Stadium.
It was gathered that some of Atiku’s staff were sent on retreat last week on how to handle the declaration and the campaign that would follow.
Atiku who expected to run for next year’s presidential elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The APC, however, has several presidential hopefuls including former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari; former Kwara governor, Bukola Saraki, Kano governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; Leadership Newspapers publisher, Sam Nda-Isaiah and more.
We shall be waiting to see how this pans out.
