WHY YOU SHOULD BE EATING THESE FOUR FOODS

Brussels Sprouts
They’re an incredible superfood. It turns out that they have the most active of an antioxidant compound called glucosinolate than any of the cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, kale). Glucosinolate activates our natural detoxification system and prevents all sorts of diseases, notably cancer.
It helps our body detoxify from any sort of harm. They’re also an excellent source of vitamin C, which is great for your skin, and folic acid. I recommend cutting them up into individual leaves, tossing with olive oil and salt, and baking them till they’re crispy, kind of like how you would make kale chips.
Dried Cherries
Not only are they the perfect balance of sweet and tart, they’re loaded with an antioxidant that decreases inflammation and they’re one of the only natural sources of melatonin, so they can help regulate your sleep cycle if you eat them at night or when you’re traveling.
Avocados
People eat avocado all the time, but they might not realize all the benefits they’re getting. There’s a lot of new research on just how good they are for you. One study in particular found that when you eat avocado with a salad, it actually helps you better absorb the other carotenoids, like beta carotene and lycopene, in the vegetables. They also have a kind of fat in them that helps decrease inflammation in the body, so they’ll help with skin flare-ups.
Chia Seeds
They have really high protein and soluble fiber levels, which lowers cholesterol and slows down sugar absorption. In terms of skin benefits, they can reduce breakouts by keeping your blood sugar steady. I like to make this great mango & coconut chia pudding.
