NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBER NABBED BY SARS IN KANO

A notorious robber Aminu Garba, popularly known as Maishanu, has been arrested by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Kano command, led by CSP Yusuf Kolo
According to Daily Trust report, he robbed a multi system construction company in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State and went away with N11million cash and gold jewellery worth N28million, at the beginning of of the recently concluded Ramadan fast. He then went on a spending spree, buying 4 cars, 3 tricycles and 8 plots of land at different locations in the state.
He was said to have used his loot to render financial assistance to the needy while he gave the cars and the tricycles to unemployed youths for transport business.
Confessing at the Kano police command, Maishanu said he shared N2.5million out of the N11million he stole from the construction company to the needy in his neighbourhood in the spirit of Ramadan fast, adding that he did it because of the blessings of Ramadan and he put smiles on the faces of the needy.
According to him, he went for the operation alone and this happened to be the best and easiest of the raids he’s had so far in his 9-years of being in the robbery business.
"It was easy because I only jumped a fence and broke the window before gaining access into where the money was kept. It was a friend that hinted me that the money was kept in a safe inside the company. Stealing is my business and I have been doing it for long with passion. This is the second time I’m brought here (Kano SARS) and I’m assuring you it will be my last time. If not for the fact that I was arrested I would have bidden farewell to the business," he said.
He expalined that the people he gave the cars to betrayed him and refused to give him returns. It was while he was trying to recover the cars from them that he was arrested.
Parading the suspect, the spokesperson of the Kano command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia said they arrested him around the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital area, after they interrogated staff members of the company who revealed that a notorious robber in their area had been on a spending spree.
He therefore advised the people of the state to be mindful of their utterances, especially the ones that have to do with money as it was one of the staff members of the company that carelessly informed Maishanu of the money.
