A giant reptile was caught in Alabama, USA
The huge reptile whose weight is slightly less then 500 kilograms was captured after a lengthy hunt that lasted no fewer than 10 hours.

The hunting started on Friday night and lasted well into Saturday morning. The family of five first staked the animal before battling it, then killing it and finally struggling to take it back to shore.

The reptile’s length was easily determined as 4,5 meters but weighing it was a big more tricky. The predator was so large it destroyed the winch system used to lift average-sized alligators.

The animal has now been officially named as the largest ever legally harvested in Alabama and it could even be a new world record.
Alligators are the only dangerous-game species that can legally be hunted in the state.
