COURT REMANDS MAN OVER THREAT MESSAGES

An Ilorin Magistrate court has remanded one Salahudeen Issah Ayo, to prison custody for allegedly sending threat messages to one Salihu Adebayo of Guniyan Villa, Ilorin.

Leadership reports that the accused who resides at Stadium road, Ilorin, is standing trial for a three count charge of criminal intimidation and false information with intent to mislead public servant.
The First Information Report (FIR) disclosed that the case which is contrary to section 396 and 140 of the penal code law was reported through a petition written by the plaintiff to the Commissioner of Police on May 22, 2014.
According to the FIR, the defendant in April 2014 sent some threat messages to him through his GSM number, where he allegedly threatened to deal with the petitioner and his family.
“Investigation conducted at the Department of Criminal Investigation revealed that you confessed to have committed the act intentionally. However, in the course of the investigation, the suspect on one of his visit to the police station came with blood stained bandage on his leg and crutches in pretence that he had an accident aimed at misleading the investigators, which was discovered to be false on examination. You hereby committed the above offences” the report states.
