WATCH VIDEO!!! 'CALVIN KLEIN CALLED : THEY WANT ME IN THEIR NEXT CAMPAIGN - IDRIS ELBA

Is that a pistol in your pocket? Idris Elba took to Twitter on Saturday to address the chatter surrounding these photos of him on the set of his new movie A Hundred Streets in London earlier this week, which went viral thanks to the apparently huge bulge in his pants
Idris Elba found himself at the centre of an hilarious situation this week when a rather suspicious series of photos went viral.

The shots in question were taken on the London set of his new movie A Hundred Streets, in which what turned out to be merely a questionably-placed mic wire made it appear as if he was sporting

an impressively large bulge in his pants.

With the internet abuzz at the sight of his apparently more than generously-sized package, which

was unmistakeable in his slim-fitting ink-blue suit pants, it was only a matter of time before the
Golden Globe-winner was made aware of the chatter.

New career? The British hunk - seen here on April 2 - later jokingly informed his now 1.17 million followers of his new job as an underwear model, writing, 'Calvin Klein called my mobile, they want me in their next campaign. Foot long john's Coming Winter 2014'

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the 41-year-old gave a lighthearted response to the furore, clearly seeing the funny side rather than being embarrassed.
'The good news is i got a shit load of followers. The bad news is, that is a mic wire,' he tweeted his now 1.17 million fans, along with the hashtag, 'Ego went into spaceship mode though.'

Several hours later, he jokingly informed his followers of his new gig as an underwear model.
'The good news is i got a shit load of followers. The bad news is, that is a mic wire': After catching wind of the furore surrounding his manhood, the 41-year-old explained away the bulge, clearly seeing the funny side as he tweeted the hashtag, 'Ego went into spaceship mode though'

Of course, the Brit isn't the first actor to be thrust into the spotlight for the size of his manhood.
Mad Men star Jon Hamm has long been on the receiving end of unwanted attention, telling Rolling Stone magazine in March that he was well and truly over the constant talk.
'Most of it's tongue-in-cheek. But it is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people

feel like they have - a prurience,' he told the publication.

Taking particular offence to a blog titled Jon Hamm's Wang, he ranted: 'They're called "privates" for

a reason. I'm wearing pants, for f***'s sake. Lay off.

'I mean, it's not like I'm a f***ing lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my c***, I feel like that wasn't part of the deal.'
However, the 43-year-old concludes: 'But whatever. I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite.'
