In a latest attack by Islamic insurgents, Boko Haram 100 young men are reported to have been kidnapped
No fewer than 10 people have been killed and 100 young men kidnapped following an attack by Islamic insurgent group, Boko Haram in Doron Baga, a village in Borno State.
The attack which took place on Sunday 10th August claimed the lives of 6 people from one family alone. This is according to Halima Alhaji Adamu, a family member of the deceased and resident of the village.
Meanwhile about 51 youths who were moving from Maiduguri to Abuja were intercepted by the Nigerian military at about 3am, Wednesday night. According to a statement by the Defence Headquarters, the youths, all packed in three 18-seater buses where traveling in company of a woman who said she was moving them to Abuja on the orders of the Borno state Government.
Interrogation revealed that the youths were being conveyed to Abuja on the directives of a Borno State Government official to meet their relatives for assistance in an economic empowerment programme. Said official is however yet to respond to series of efforts to verify the claims.
