The former Vice President is reportedly planning to contest on the platform of the APC
The race for the 2015 presidential elections is heating up as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar is reportedly planning to run.
According to The Sun, Atiku is set to declare his interest in the race during the convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which will hold in November.
A prominent aide of the former VP is said to have stated that he (Atiku) “has embarked on extensive consultations with stakeholders at home and abroad.”
Atiku previously stated that he would “lead the vanguard of unseating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government of President Goodluck Jonathan.”
The APC chieftain contested the 2007 presidential elections on the platform of the now defunct Action Congress of Nigeria but lost to the late Umaru Yar’Adua.
