The 28-year-old was arrested by the police in Ebonyi for the girl's murder. The police in Ebonyi have arrested a man in the state after he was accused for killing a pupil and raping another.
28-year-old Sunday Nwali is said to have shot one Chioma Ezekwele, a student of Kingdom Secondary School in the Ezza South Local Government Area of the state, after she refused to engage in intercourse with him.
Details of the crime were relayed to journalists by the Police Commissioner for the state, Mr Maigari Dikko who said:
'Chioma resisted a move by Nwali to have carnal knowledge of her and in annoyance, he shot her dead. He then dragged Sandra to a nearby bush, defiled her and ran away. His two accomplices, who were later identified by Sandra, were arrested and charged to court for conspiracy/murder.”
The suspect was allegedly also involved in the earlier murder of a 3-year-old boy.
