INDIAN BABY SWALLOWS KNIFE WORN AROUND HIS NECK TO WARD OFF EVIL SPIRITS

A protective knife worn around a baby’s neck to ward off evil spirits was a source of harm to the baby instead of protecting him. The six-month-old baby, Dev Thakor, swallowed the knife by accident while he was feeding from her mum breast. Dev had been wearing the knife on a string around his neck as a local tradition in India. According to the toddler’s father, Bharat Thakor, the baby suddenly started crying and screaming, which prompted the family to observe him and noticed that something had gone wrong. After they noticed that the knife was missing, Dev Thakor was quickly rushed to the hospital where an x-ray confirmed that he had swallowed the penknife.

THREE KAI OFFICIALS IN JAIL FOR RAPE..EXTORTION

For allegedly raping a 24-year-old lady and extorting money from other offenders, three operatives of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, outfit, have been sent to jail. The KAI officials who were arrested in Ojota area of the state last month, have been standing trial for allegedly raping the lady which they arrested after she crossed the Ikorodu expressway and was made to sleep with them in a nearby hotel in the area in exchange for her freedom.

Protesters have invaded the streets of New York after a grand jury decided not to charge a white police officer who choked an unarmed black man to death. 43-year-old Eric Garner was put in a chokehold, which eventually led to his death, byOfficer Daniel Pantaleo in July after he was caught illegally selling cigarettes.His death was ruled a homicide by the city’s medical examiner but the grand jury ruled on Wednesday, December 3 that Pantaleo did not intend to cause Garner’s death with his actions.
