There was pandemonium in a community market on Johnson Street, Somolu, Lagos State, on Wednesday as some suspected cultists shot and hacked to death a 22-year-old resident, identified only as Ahmed, aka Bobo. PUNCH Metro gathered that the killers were suspected members of the Aiye Confraternity. A trader, Tawakalitu Omosebi, told our correspondent on Friday during a visit to the market that Ahmed was trailed to the area by a three-man gang.

ARMY RECAPTURES CHIBOK COMMUNITY FROM BOKO HARAM

The Nigerian army said yesterday that it had recaptured the north-eastern town of Chibok, where Boko Haram insurgents abducted more than 200 schoolgirls in April, provoking a wave of global outrage.An elder of Chibok community, Pogu Bitrus however told AFP that Chibok was recaptured in a joint operation with local vigilantes known as the Civilian Joint Task Force.
