10 people have been killed in a helicopter crash in the La Rioja province of Argentina, BBC reports. A total of 8 French citizens and 2 Argentinian pilots are reported to have died in the crash. Among the deceased are 3 French sports personalities - Yachtswoman Florence Arthaud, Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine.
The crash is reported to have occurred while filming celebrity TV survival show 'Dropped', which
flies celebrities into rough terrain by helicopter and films their attempts to find food and shelter.
The helicopters collided during filming near Villa Castelli, about 1,170km (720 miles) from Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires.
Speaking on the unfortunate incident, French president Francois Hollande said in a statement:
"The sudden death of our fellow French nationals is a cause of immense sadness"
Also killed in the crash were staff of Adventure Line Productions (ALP), the company working on the programme. They were named as Laurent Sbasnik, Lucie Mei-Dalby, Volodia Guinard, Brice Guilbert and Edouard Gilles.
