Wizkid is having a pretty rough week, considering the bad press he’s been getting and unsavoury comments from colleagues in the industry. Samklef says he doesn’t like who Wizkid has become, while Saeon insinuated that she paid him N1.5 million for a feature, but couldn’t get a retweet. But going by an interview with Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi
on Beat99.9 FM yesterday, Saeon seems to have slightly changed her tone. She had posted on her Instagram page, “Folks be like ‘I never charge artists for features’ but I’m N1.5 million short and I couldn’t even get a retweet.” Everyone automatically assumed that she was referring to Wizkid, due to his recent collaboration with her on her single, “Boogie Down”, however, Saeon told Gbemi that her comment could have been about anybody, owing to the fact that she has done several collaborations with many artistes in the past year. She would also add that the person the Instagram post was directed at ‘knows what she meant’. Saeon also used the opportunity to deny being in a relationship with Uti Nwachukwu, saying they are nothing but friends.
