MIRROW.UK: JAMES FOLEY- EXECUTED JOURNALIST'S PARENTS RELEASE FINAL LETTER HE SENT THEM FROM HIS HOSTAGE CELL

The 40-year-old, beheaded by a militant from Islamic State, told his family: "I pray for you to stay strong and to believe. I really feel I can touch you even in this darkness when I pray."

The parents of executed journalist James Foley have released the final letter he sent them from his hostage cell.

The 40-year-old, beheaded by a British militant from the terror group Islamic State (IS) known as Jihadi John, wrote that dreaming of his family and friends "takes me away and happiness fills my heart".
He continued: "I know you are thinking of me and praying for me.
"And I am so thankful.
"I feel you all especially when I pray.
"I pray for you to stay strong and to believe.
"I really feel I can touch you even in this darkness when I pray."
Mr Foley's brutal execution at the hands of a masked IS fighter who spoke with a London accent, was filmed and posted online last week.
He was captured in Syria in November 2012 and wrote several letters during his captivity.
However, they were all confiscated by his captors.
To get around this, Mr Foley asked another hostage, who was due to be released, to commit a letter to memory.
The hostage later dictated this to Mr Foley's mum Diane and it has now been published on the Find James Foley Facebook page set up by his friends and family.

In the letter, Mr Foley reveals he was held in a cell along with 18 other prisoners.
He said they passed the time talking about films, sport and trivia, and found ways of playing chess, checkers and Risk.
He said: "I have had weak and strong days.
"We are so grateful when anyone is freed; but of course, yearn for our own freedom.
"We try to encourage each other and share strength."
The letter was released after it emerged that spy chiefs are just hours from unmasking Mr Foley's killer.
Spooks at MI5 have been scouring a list of Brit fanatics thought to be fighting in Syria and have now narrowed down a shortlist of suspects to "a few names".
A funeral for Mr Foley will be held on October 18 - his 41st birthday.
