Banks and discount houses have been directed to donate to the Victims Support Fund Committee, reports New Telegraph.

The order was given by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria,  Godwin Emefiele, at a breakfast meeting with banks’ managing directors and those of other financial institutions in Lagos on Wednesday.

Emefiel said President Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to him to seek the support of the bank to contribute to fund, which was set up to assist victims of Boko Haram insurgency.

The banks have, however, told the CBN Governor that they would need the approval of their various boards before they could act on the directive.
